WMH awarded Creative Review’s ‘Best in Book’ for Coco de Mer

WMH 2016 COCO DE MER NELL GWYNNE

WMH has been awarded the esteemed ‘Best in Book’ by design publication Creative Review for its packaging design work for Coco de Mer.

The Annual is Creative Review’s showcase of the best visual communications work of the year. Trusted by the industry, it celebrates great work and supports those who produce it by offering a platform for it to be seen, both by peers and potential clients from the wider creative community.

Luxurious, enticing and empowering, Coco de Mer is where you “explore the exhilarating limits of your erotic imagination”. Online and in their London boutique, they collect and curate only the finest erotica to “inspire exploration, excitement and enjoyment”.

Williams Murray Hamm created a revised identity and new packaging to reinforce Coco de Mer’s luxury positioning across their range of toys, oils, lubricants and candles as well as shopping bags, brochures and more.Coco de Mer lubricant bottles designed by WMH Pleasures Collection

The highlight of the work, the packaging for a range of luxury toys, features portraits of some of history’s grand-dames of seduction: Nell Gwynne, Georgiana the Duchess of Devonshire and Catherine Howard. In a nod to the idea of excitement and discovery their portraits are glimpsed through a teasing peephole on outer boxes.

A complimentary and sophisticated colour palette of teal, black, ceramic, clementine, ‘Coco gold’ and red has been introduced with the typography and Coco de Mer marque redrawn in glorious gold.WMH coco de mer erotic sex toys packaging Nell Gywnne Georgaina Cavendish Catherine HowardOn winning the award, Garrick Hamm, Creative Director of Williams Murray Hamm said:

I’d like to thank all the good people who worked on this work, from WMH and Coco De Mer. If you can dream it, you can make it, but only if you have a like minded client. The dreaming is the easy bit, Thank You Coco de Mer’.

The product range is available online and in Coco de Mer’s Covent Garden flagship store.

WMH’s design for the brand recently won Gold and the Grand Prix at The Drum’s Dream Awards, Gold at The Fresh Awards and a Mobius Award.

WMH wins GOLD for JuiceBurst at the DBA Design Effectiveness Awards 2016

Williams Murray Hamm, with client Purity Soft Drinks, won gold for Brand Design with its groundbreaking work on JuiceBurst, at this year’s Design Effectiveness Awards.

Recognised as one of the UK’s most prestigious design for business awards, Thursday night’s annual turnout was held at Tobacco Dock, London. The guest list of shortlisted winners included many of the top 20 creative and design businesses in this country.

Judged by business leaders and entered jointly by client and designer, the DBA Design Effectiveness Awards are both rigorous and authoritative. They celebrate the power of design to drive business success and provide compelling proof of why design is a sound commercial investment.

Popular with small, independent retailers, JuiceBurst was missing a massive opportunity by having no presence amongst large convenience retailers like WHSmith. In order to achieve significant retail listings to drive growth, WMH defined a target audience, positioned the brand and created highly differentiated packaging that would really engage consumers.

Building on the brand’s name, WMH used fruit being detonated as the central motif. This overarching idea connected the packaging to social media and digital content via Blippar, the augmented reality app.

Since re-launch, JuiceBurst has become one of the nation’s fastest growing beverage brands. In a market declining by -9%, it is growing at 93% year on year. There has been an amazing 75% annual profit increase and distribution has increased from one to nine national retailers.

WMH Creative Director Garrick Hamm said ‘It just illustrates, again, that great, simple creative ideas can make a difference to the bottom line. I’m delighted for our long-standing and supportive client Jon Evans at Purity and, of course, our hard working team at WMH’.

Williams Murray Hamm redesigns Seresin Estate website inspired by founder’s cinematography

WMH-SERESIN-ESTATE-RESPONSIVE-ECOMMERCE-WEBSITE-WEB

WMH helps Seresin Estate re-launch its website with stunningly beautiful design and ecommerce ability for wine and olive oil loving customers.

The celebrated Seresin Estate needed a new website which would bring to life the brand philosophy and reason d’être via an immersive online experience, whilst providing a purchase facility for its wines and olive oils.

WMH-SERESIN-ESTATE-ECOMMERCE-WEB

Williams Murray Hamm were approached to redesign the website which would not only encapsulate Michael Seresin’s personality and beliefs, but would also showcase the estate and provide a much needed ecommerce platform. The New Zealand (Wellington) born Founder, Michael Seresin, began his career in 1966 as a cinematographer and wine enthusiast; the latter developing into a entrepreneurial passion with the purchase of the Marlborough NZ estate in 1992. Today the Seresin Estate is BioGro Certified as the largest organic producer in New Zealand and is Demeter International Standard certified for its biodynamic production.

WMH-SERESIN-ESTATE-DIGITAL-WEB

WMH created an anamorphic ‘letter box’ layout for the website, referencing widescreen cinema which cites Michael Seresin’s cinematographic career. The amalgamation of the black & white film and photography articulates the majestic and emotively atmospheric landscapes of the Seresin Estate. The imagery, combined with the serif type, denotes the premium quality of the brand and produce whilst retaining the discerning mark of the founder’s handprint found on the labels. The layout of the contacts and distributors page gives a further nod to the cinematic world by arranging the information as if a set of film credits.

The website can be visited at http://seresin.co.nz
